Herba Stochita (89/100)
Herba Stochita is rendered with an algorithm that simulates organic plant growth. It is in fact a smaller version of Herba Stochia, and is plotted on A6 size paper.
The pictures are calculated using a generative computer program. Each picture is unique, with many random factors affecting the generation of the image. This collection holds 100 iterations of the plant.
When the computer has calculated how the picture should look like, they are drawn on paper with a plotter holding a Japanese bristle brush pen. The ink used in the pen is made from Icelandic crowberries from a recipe from the 17th century and this batch of berries was handpicked in Svarfaðardalur in September of 2020. The color of the image may fade over time. It is recommended to keep the picture from direct sunlight.
The result is a picture of a plant that is both organic and inorganic in many ways.
The pictures come numbered and signed. Frame is not included to facilitate shipping. Each individual run of the algorithm is only printed once and never again so each copy is unique. Free worldwide shipping.
